Let Them Eat Cake Not Um, Other Stuff

Today the "negligent mother" award goes to me, please don't judge me too harshly...

But honestly, in my defense, is there no end to what a little boy will eat? The things he rushes to stick in his mouth and swallow before I can catch him? You'd think I'd be faster. Or smarter. But how could I have ever guessed that today his delicious bread and cheese wouldn't hold the same appeal for him as the cat's litter box? I'm sorry, but I simply can't stay that many moves ahead, my mind doesn't work like that. He's like a master player while I am left guessing at his next move like an uncertain beginner. But oh, the cat's litter. Someone tell me it ends here. :)

Stay away from the litter William and I promise to give you all the chocolate cake you can eat. Ever. Litter, grass, dog food, and other things I don't even want to guess at will never make you as happy as gooey chocolate cake will my darling. I swear I'm right.

(William after a delightfully gooey chocolate mess of a cake)

Naji is 8 and he still likes to eat cat food. I kid you not. It blows my mind!

Hi, I just came over from Free Spirit Haven's Fearless Friday. :)

This is so funny. We don't have any pets so my 5 year old son never had the chance to eat cat litter; but, probably would have! lol! Still, he's found some pretty crazy stuff to eat/put in his mouth. :)

God bless. Have a great weekend!

My son is 20! Just so you know they do survive. Anyway...he would always eat paper, paper paper...our pediatrician said kids are smarter then us...they eat what their bodies need...that being said...Litter Box???? oh Colleen, I feel your pain or at least your anxiety...;) Love you

I'm afraid "oh dear" is putting it mildly Dawn.:) So glad you all enjoyed this! The only thing I really wonder is what does cat litter have that my cooking doesn't?! If I were the sort that was easily insulted I'd have plenty to work with here...
Yes Marlies, I attempted to cut his hair...it's all crooked because he flew into a rage and I was afraid to cut him so now I just mess it all up at the front to cover my mishap!:)

You'd better buy non-clumping litter from now on. :-)

hahaha oh my! I did the same thing when I was little and at age 6 I loved to munch rocks, yes those very porous rocks that crumble with your fingers, I used to love putting them in my mouth and I survived, who knows how many cats peed in there, pretty gross but I never thought about that, your son is such a cutie! =D

This post was so much fun Colleen!
Cat litter sounds yukky to us, but obviously not to the little boy where everything is worth tasting!

My daughter loved soap, and toothpaste... so your story is not strange sounding to me.

And yes, they do grow up, they survive. What matters is that they are loved well, and enjoyed to the max..like what your little William is experiencing now with his mom and dad.

He'll probably forget the cat litter, but not the love.

Love
Lidj

Oh, never you mind. Children do that sort of things all the time.
From work I learned to keep all kinds of detergents, acids, medicine, even hand soap and toothpaste in a locked cupboard.
Much worse to hear the bump, bump and a second of awful silence when your child is falling down the staircase.
That happened twice to me.I still shiver thinking of it.
Guess I took your price there too?

Kids do have a habit of doing crazy things.

What a sweet boy you have! A normal one that keeps his mommy on her toes. :)Yes, from now on you will be chasing after him and staying ahead of him can be defeating can't it? :) Every single one of my children put things in their mouth to eat..it didn't matter what it was...it is what kids do to learn about the world around them...and every one of them survived. :) As long as they don't get into anything poisonness which usually they can't unless things like that are in their reach, they are fine.

Thanks for stopping by my place and leaving such a sweet comment. It sure made me smile. I am glad you stopped by so that I could visit your place here...very nice I say! :) Nice to meet you! :) Lori

Hahah. This is so adorable and sweet. And it's kind of like a deju vu for me. I TOTALLY have a picture so similar to that. Except of, you know, me. First time eating pudding and by the amounts on my face, I seem to have really liked it! ;)

Thanks so much for stopping by!
